I have always loved going around barefoot: it just seems so much more comfortable, normal, and natural. Somehow it's just
plain right!
I'm well-educated (MSEE), work in an office that requires 'business casual' attire. Quite often the women
wear sandals with no problem, but it's not too well-accepted if I go around in sandals (although sometimes I do, and with
toe rings!). That's just not fair! On a related subject, women can go around in short skirts and bare-legged: I'm jealous!
For a short time I worked in a small office environment. During that summer I suddenly started going around the carpeted
office area in my bare feet. That same day 2 other engineers dropped their shoes, too. Seeing the three of us barefoot, the
female administrator started going around barefoot, too. That continued all summer. That was a special time when we were able
to be rebellious against something so silly!
For about the past 15 years I've noticed that when I go into a person's
home, and I have anything on my feet, I MUST take off my shoes: I just don't feel right about being in their home with anything
on my feet; I think it's a sign of respect.
Who Am I?
I grew up in a relatively stable, but overly-conservative Christian home on Long Island, NY. I now live in NH.
I became saved as a child and continued to follow Him. I met my wife to be when we were both in Christian service
at a youth camp, and have now been married 25 years.
I feel that I'm a relatively mature, stable Christian with the
gifts of being a teacher and a prophet. I lead a regular Home Bible Study group, using the Bible as the only curriculum.
I've
been asked whether I have favorite verses or Bible passages. Hard to say, but Psalm 119 has always been a real
favorite because of its emphasis on the Word of God and its importance.
I'm very quiet, down-to-earth, shy, and reserved. My
dress style is very casual and conservative, and I'm usually barefoot.
I listen to Christian music, mostly
of the contemporary worship and praise type. I also like Country music. I have no time for TV, but I enjoy TLC, History Channel,
Discovery Channel, etc.
I like hiking, canoeing, kayaking, biking, motorcycling, firearms and shooting
I'm employed
fulltime as an electrical engineer. Our children are either out of the house or away at college.
I'm just looking for
someone normal and natural to chat with, and maybe an activity partner.
